Stuart Court offers an excellent level of accommodation and facilities, including 29 well-proportioned unfurnished flats.
The flats at Stuart Court all have one bedroom and, depending on design, can accommodate both couples and single residents. All flats look out over the attractive gardens that surround the building. Those on the ground floor enjoy their own patio with a waist-height walled planting area, whilst the flats at higher levels have a covered balcony or seating area.
Each flat has a hallway with a large storage area (some of our residents use this as an office space), a lounge, a bedroom with wall-to-wall fitted wardrobes, and a bathroom (all with a walk-in shower). The kitchen area has a sink unit, fully-fitted cupboards at both low and high levels, and is fitted with a full-sized fridge and cooker.
Within the building, we have a library, a chapel, a common room, and a laundry. We serve a two-course lunch each day in our dining room, and this space is also used for other social events such as table tennis, indoor bowls, and knitting. It also has a bright and attractive seating area and coffee machine, which is a popular place for meeting up with friends, family, or other residents.
We are lucky to be situated right in the centre of the beautiful village of Kibworth in the South Leicestershire countryside. The doctor’s surgery is only 30 yards from the scheme, and the chemist is at the bottom of the road. Just a few minutes’ walk away, we have around 30 shops, including an optician, a dentist, a well-stocked food shop, and a Post Office. There is also a good choice of cafes, pubs and restaurants in the village. There is a new community hospital in Market Harborough, and three main hospitals in Leicester itself. An excellent local volunteer driver service makes them all easily accessible.
Kibworth has good transport links to the local town of Market Harborough, with a train station on the Midland mainline for easy connections to London (1 hour) and the North. Leicester city centre is just a 30-minute bus ride away, with buses running every half an hour.

Community
Community is an important part of everyday life, no matter where you live. One of the advantages of living at Stuart Court is that a community is already ‘built in’. Various social activities happen within the scheme every week, offering an opportunity to meet up with your friends and neighbours. But it is left totally up to you as to how much you join in!
In addition to the social activities within the scheme, there are plenty of events and activities happening in the wider community too, and many residents actively participate in these.
Catering
We provide a cooked lunch which is served in our dining room; however, we appreciate that you will often want to be out and about, or entertain in your flat, so we offer a flexible lunch service to capture the needs of those with independence at their heart. Choices are available from a varied menu and prepared on a daily basis in our five-star hygiene rated kitchen by our catering team. Lunch is regularly a time for the community to come together, to catch up and enjoy each other’s company.
If you have any allergies or special diets, these can be accommodated. We welcome feedback and ask for suggestions from residents to help decide on future menu choices. Guests are welcome to join residents at lunch for a small charge.
Support
We understand how important it is to strike the right balance between offering independent living and providing support when you need it. Staff are on-site seven days a week to offer you company, general assistance and support should you need it. We aim to enable you to live independently with the peace of mind of having help when you need it.
We do not provide personal or nursing care. However, our team can assist residents in organising help from external agencies and decide on the right care package to meet their needs.
Our scheme is equipped with a 24-hour warden call system which can be used to call for assistance from either the staff on site or the out-of-hours call centre. An integral fire alarm system ensures that the building is continuously monitored. A laundry service is available for a small additional charge if you find this task difficult.
We also have a member of staff who is responsible for building maintenance and the upkeep of our gardens. They can assist with small repairs in flats and carry out other small jobs such as putting up shelves or hanging pictures.
Chapel life
The chapel is an important part of our community. It is run by residents and services are organised by the chapel committee. There are several services held each week and it is always open for private reflection and prayer.
Social
There’s always plenty going on in and around the scheme, offering you the opportunity to get as involved as you would like.
Some of the more popular activities include a weekly knitting group where residents can meet with others for a coffee and a catch-up. Weekly film shows are held in the common room, and craft mornings take place in our hobbies room. There is also a weekly keep-fit class as well as a book club and a poetry club, and for those who want something a little more strenuous, we also have a table tennis table. Winter afternoons see the return of indoor bowls and another opportunity to take part in competitive games.
In addition, up to four organised bus outings a year take place when residents visit local places of interest. These trips are funded by a local charitable organisation.
Flat layout
Our flats all have one bedroom, however, they come in two different designs, which are suitable for both couples and single residents. The flats have views over the attractive gardens that surround the scheme. Those on the ground floor enjoy their own patio with a waist-height walled planting area, whilst the flats at higher levels have a covered balcony. All the apartments have a hallway with a large storage cupboard, lounge, bedroom with wall-to-wall fitted wardrobes and a bathroom which benefits from a walk-in shower. The kitchens were all renewed in 2024 and benefit from fully-fitted wall and floor cupboards, and all have a full-sized fridge freezer and integrated fan oven.
